Learn Your Biological Age

: Discover Yourself with 7 Tests

It can be difficult to understand the true state of our health in the pace of modern life. However, by measuring your biological age, you can see how old your body really is and how it works. Here are 7 tests that you can easily apply at home to discover your biological age. These tests cover many features, from production to endurance, from flexibility to balance. Let's get started!

1. Push-up Test

To test your upper body endurance, push-ups are a great place to start. The average number of push-ups is determined by age and gender.

  • How To?

    • Open your arms at shoulder width.

    • Do a full push-up: lower your chest to the floor and then push yourself back up.

    • Count how many push-ups you can do.

  • Results: An above-average performance may indicate that your biological age is lower than your chronological age.

2. Sit-Stand Test

Designed to measure mobility and balance, this test measures your body's basic functionality.

  • How To?

    • Sit on the floor with your legs crossed.

    • Stand up again without support from your hands, knees, or elbows.

    • Each time you use a boost, one point is deducted.

  • Results: A score of 8 and above indicates a healthy musculoskeletal system.

3. Flexibility Test

Assess your risk of injury by measuring your hamstring and lower back flexibility.

  • How To?

    • Sit on the floor with your legs stretched out.

    • Measure how far you can go by reaching forward with your hands.

    • Average value: 19 inches or more.

  • The results: Better flexibility increases your overall fitness level.

4. Balance on One Leg

Your ability to balance tends to decrease as you age. This test measures balance and coordination.

  • How To?

    • Lift one leg up and place your arms at your sides.

    • Close your eyes and see how long you can hold on without losing your balance.

  • Results: Being able to last 17 seconds or more is a good benchmark for a balanced life.

5. Reaction Speed Test

As we age, our reflexes slow down. This test helps you understand your overall cognitive health by measuring your reaction time.

  • How To?

    • Download an app (for example, “Reaction Time Test”).

    • Test your reaction time by tapping the screen when the lights go out.

  • The results: Faster reaction times, a sign of a healthy nervous system.

6. Waist-Height Ratio

It offers a more precise health assessment than BMI and analyzes body fat percentage.

  • How To?

    • Measure your waist at its narrowest point and your full height.

    • Divide your waist measurement by your height. If the ratio is less than 0.5, you're in good shape.

7. Grip Strength Test (Bonus)

A strong hand derivative indicates your overall muscular endurance.

  • How To?

    • Take measurements with a grip dynamometer (about $20 on Amazon).

    • Average: Reaching over 62 lbs is a very good value.

Why Does Biological Age Matter?

Biological age provides an opportunity to understand the functional status of your body and the aging process. These tests not only help you understand your physical abilities, but also provide a basis for self-improvement. Take your measurements, set goals, and take action to lower your biological age.

Taking a step towards a healthy future is in your hands!
